Digitally-enhanced reproductions of historic tile catalogs are available from the Tile Heritage Foundation (THF). Nicely bound, with card stock covers, these are in most cases reproductions of original catalogs in the Tile Heritage archives.
Some catalogs have been loaned to the Foundation for this purpose.

"In color" means that every page is in full color; "with color" means that every page that's in color in the original catalog is in color in the reproduction.



Alhambra Tile Co. (Newport, KY). "Faience Arch Mantels." This is a rare catalog, probably not the company's first as the mantel illustrations begin with No. 30 and go up to No. 54, all with specifications and most with decorative inserts. In addition, there is one page of decorative embossed tiles and four pages of trim shapes. 32 pages, c. 1905 judging from the designs.

Alhambra Tile Co. (Newport, KY). "Artistic Designs of Mantels." This is also a rare catalog showing mantel illustrations from No. 60 to No. 82, all with specifications and most with decorative inserts. In addition, there are seven pages featuring a wide variety of decorative design tiles including many with Arts & Crafts associations and five pages showing trim shapes and mantel arch details. 38 pages, c. 1915, perhaps earlier. American Encaustic Tiling Co. (New York, NY). Artistic Tiles, one of the earliest catalogs produced by the American Encaustic Tiling Co. Ltd., New York, 1902. More than 90 pages with hundreds of the famous dust-pressed, low-relief, decorative tiles that are among the most collectible today. Price: $40 with color.
