MASSACHUSETTS HARDHAT WORKSHOP 2008

Eric Rattan will offer his 3-day ‘hardhat’ technical mosaic/handmade tile installation workshop May 16, 17 and 18 in Rockport, Massachusetts. Rockport mosaic artist Pam Stratton will be hosting the workshop. For details regarding lodging in this beautiful coastal area call Pam at 978.203.040l.

A wide variety of technical installation topics will be offered such as (but not limited to) cement, concrete, thin sets, mud setting, underlayments, mortars, building structure, interior/exterior considerations, showers, grouts, efflorescence and more. Each morning will consist of a 3 ½ to four-hour lecture. Each afternoon will be a hands-on mud set stone mosaic installation.

The workshop will focus on hand-carving relief images of the surrounding desert landscape, glaze painting, and firing techniques. Suitable for beginning and intermediate level tile-makers.
