From 2018 through June 2019 we are anticipating 5000 hand-printed tiles will have been produced by people active, either directly or indirectly, in the tile industry – we’re inviting all to press their hands into a wet clay tile and become a part of the mural to be installed at TCNA headquarters in Anderson, SC!
BECOME A HAND-PRINT DONOR WALL SPONSOR! There are multiple levels of opportunity:
NOTE: You may host an onsite hand-print workshop for your staff (and invited guests) decorating “wet” 9-inch tiles with logos, names and alphabetic and numeric characters supplied by Tile Heritage (if needed). For detailed information email Tile Heritage: foundation@tileheritage.org. Alternatively, you may choose to provide Tile Heritage with financial support to cover its expenses for clay, firing, shipping and installation.

World class artist, Benito Ortega & Donna Billick will teach sculpting the human figure in clay along with mosaic construction.
The dates are Jan 7-11 2019, in Todos Santos, Baja Sur Mexico.
In addition to sculpting the figure in clay we will show how to integrate handmade ceramic relief tiles of faces and hands into a portrait of a Saint using mosaic material . . . expanding into a community build mosaic project - The community of Todos Santos” ‘Saints Alive Wall.” DETAILS
URBAN ARCHEOLOGIST: Uncovering TEPCO in the San Francisco Bay Area with Mosaic artist Tina Amidon. . .
On a recent day at Tepco Beach, Richmond artist Tina Amidon (Tidal Zone Arts) searched for shards for her next project: a kitchen backsplash of colorful Tepco pieces. In 2011, she created a coffee-cup-shaped love seat covered in Tepco fragments. “When you see a Tepco dish, it pulls you back to a moment in time,” she says. . . .
